Please join us for the PODS August meeting held on Thursday, August 22, 2019 starting at 6:30pm. The meeting is held at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church (Parish Hall) located at 301 Hays Country Acres Dr in Dripping Springs, TX. Our meetings are open to the public and all ages are welcome.
The meeting promises to be engaging with photographer David Valdez as our guest speaker. Mark your calendars and don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to learn some interesting insights about American history from one who was there, and about the craft of photojournalism.
Best known for being the Chief White House Photographer during the presidency of George H.W. Bush, 1989 to 1993, David Valdez is legendary in the world of photojournalism. He has been taking pictures and documenting current events for over fifty years. His photo journey began during his years in the Air Force as a field photographer. Valdez is also a deeply rooted Texan from Alice, Texas, whose family immigrated to south Texas to work on the King Ranch.
Recently Mr. Valdez was the co-host of the first Georgetown Texas Photography Festival this past March. The success of the festival has lead to a second expanded show in 2020.
