Our March Meeting will be on Thursday March 24, 2016 at 6:30pm. Due to a scheduling conflict at our regular meeting space we will be meeting at the Dripping Springs City Hall located at 511 W Mercer Street in Dripping Springs.
Our speaker this month will be Kirk Tuck. Mr Tuck is a well known portrait photographer. He is a photography instructor for online educator, Craftsy.com and over 150,000 people have taken one or more of his video courses. PODS February Meeting is just around the corner. Come join us on February 25th at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church located at 301 Hays County Acres Rd in Dripping Springs. Meeting begins at 6;30pm and runs til about 8pm. This month’s guest speaker will be Kevin Gourley. We have a very exciting guest speaker this month. Photographer Ramu Tiru will be presenting “Places Visited, Faces Captured.” “I am a traveller of time, always looking for “Magic” to happen everyday.The ambiguity of life with all the contradictions and clichés is what keeping me emotionally looking for that “Magic”.
Life is transient and is a wondrous mosaic, experienced simultaneously by our body, mind and soul. Once the soul leaves the body “I” and “My” mind will stop to exist. Until then…. Notice to all: There will not be a December meeting due to the holidays. Instead all members of PODS are invited to the Annual PODS Holiday Party that will be held on December 11th at 7:00pm. Details will be sent out to members via email and the Google + page.

Please join us for the PODS November Meeting. It will be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:30pm. Location: The Church of the Holy Spirit 301 Hays County Acres in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Note this is a different day of the week because of the Thanksgiving holiday falling on our normal meeting time.

The October meeting will start at 6:30pm on Thursday October 22, 2015 at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church located at 301 Hays County Acres Rd in Dripping Springs. Please note the new location and time!!

Our guest speaker is Phil Warner. His presentation will be an Introduction to Spherical Panoramic Photography. He will be covering the basic gear, software, methods and workflow to create a 360 spherical image. Phil Warner began shooting 360 images in 2008 when he built a programmable panohead. His favorite projects over the past few years have been creating interactive experiences for several university athletic programs, racing events at the Circuit of the Americas and he is currently working on Multiple projects for AMC Networks.

The meeting will be held at 6:00pm on Thursday, September 24th at the Church of the Holy Spirit. Address is 301 Hays County Acres in Dripping Springs,Texas.

Our speaker will be Tim Babiak. He has requested that we use the entire meeting time for his workshop. So we will be skipping the business portion of the meeting so he can have more time. The workshop will run roughly 2 hours. Tim is providing a model so that we can practice outdoor available light portraits. Bring your camera- you will be shooting! Tim is only using his camera and a 85mm lens so you don’t need to bring a bunch of equipment (unless you really want to).
Please remember to bring your framed photos for the Wesley Show with you to the meeting. Chris and Laura will be collecting them if you have them ready. 

Please join us for the PODS monthly meeting held at the Dripping Springs Library starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, August 27th. The program for this month’s PODS meeting will be a panel of Doug Gephardt, Warren Capps, Dave Wilson and Michael Penn Smith, presenting their favorite sources for training and inspiration in photography.

Our July meeting will be held on Thursday July 23, 2015 at 6:00pm -Dripping Springs Library. Our guest speaker will be photographer J. Griffis Smith. Smith is the former photo editor of the Texas Highways magazine. He will have autographed copies of his book “On the Road with Texas Highways” available for sale at the meeting.

Our June meeting will be held on June 25, 2015 at 6:00pm – Dripping Springs Library. We will be doing a show and tell this meeting. Bring your favorite lens, camera/lens combo, filter, gadget, tripod, etc… whatever you would like to share with the group and why you love it. You can also take a couple of images demonstrating what the lens does or the filter etc… Email the images to Dave Wilson : dave@davewilsonphotography.com before the meeting and he will make a mini slideshow to go along with the presentation. It should be a lot of fun seeing what everyone loves to use and why.
