The PODS September meeting will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 6:30pm. The PODS May meeting will be held on Thursday May 26th starting at 6:30pm at the Holy Spirit Episcopal Church In Dripping Springs. Our guest speaker will be our very own Dave Wilson. Dave will be speaking about motor racing photography.
Dave Wilson’s wife thought she was on to a good thing when she married a Scottish guy whose only sporting passion was Formula 1 motor racing. What chance was there that something as strictly European as that would appear in Austin and entice him to spend weekends at a race track? Now after 4 years of the United States Grand Prix at our shiny, new Circuit of the Americas, she’s come to terms with losing her husband several weekends a year for F1 and the other great world racing series that come to Texas.
With 4 years of motor racing photography under his belt, Dave will discuss technique and equipment needed to shoot fast-moving cars and motorcycles, and will also “walk” you around Circuit of the Americas pointing out the best shooting locations for the majority of us unfortunate enough to be outside the fences.
